30 for 30: Mavericks

 Hello once again athletes!!!

It is yet again that time, time for 30 for 30! This time, we have the Dallas Mavericks as suggested by Dttat2458. The Mavericks seem to be bringing in younger(ish) players to go with their aging parts. Let’s do this like Nike!

 Missed playoffs

PPG: 101.1 (8th) RPG: 41.9 (16th) APG: 23.2 (5th) 101.7 (27th)

—-Players lost in offseason—-

  • O.J. Mayo (Free agency)

—Players acquired in offseason—

  • Jose Calderon (Free agency)
  • Devin Harris (Free agency)
  • Monta Ellis (Free agency)
  • Wayne Ellington (Free agency)
  • Samuel Dalembert (Free agency)
  • Branden Wright (Re-signed)
  • Bernard James (Re-signed)
  • (Shane Larkin (Draft)
  • Ricky Ledo (Trade)

Wow, a lot of pickups this year. I don’t quite know how well they will mesh together and build chemistry right away, so they might not start so hot. But if they can get it together, they might have a shot at the playoffs. It’s clear Mark Cuban was disappointed in the failure to make the playoffs, so he went out and bought some of the more underrated free agents out there. Like I said, not sure how well that will work, but we’ll soon find out. It is going to get even harder with Vince Carter and Nowitzki aging (36 and 35, respectfully), so the Mavericks might need to look to get another PF to learn from Dirk. Maybe get someone in the draft, or trade for one.

—Projections—

Record- 40-42, 9th in West

Lineup- Calderon, Ellis, Marion, Nowitzki, Dalembert

That’s it for now athletes. Remember to check the blog every day, and read all of the amazing posts by the Reporters.
