30 for 30: Pelicans

 Hello once again athletes!!!

It’s 30 for 30 time again, and this time up, we have the New Orleans Pelicans! Yes, the Pelicans. Let’s just take a second to take the name in, and think about how non-intimidating it sounds. Now let’s get to what you came for. Let’s do this like Nike!

 Missed playoffs

PPG: 94.1 (25th) RPG: 41.6 (17th) APG: 21.0 (23rd) PA: 97.9 (14th)

—–Players lost in offseason—-

  • Robin Lopez (Trade)
  • Greivis Vasquez (Trade)

—–Players acquired in offseason—–

  • Jrue Holiday (Trade)
  • Tyreke Evans (Trade)
  • Jeff Whitey (Draft)
  • Greg Stiemsma (Free agnecy)

I really like what the Pelicans are doing in the offseason. With a new name change comes a better group of players. Getting Holiday in that surprising draft day deal really helped out the backcourt. They did have Greivis Vasquez, who was one of the more underrated PG’s in the league. Vasquez led the league in total assists this season. If Eric Gordon can stay healthy, the Pelicans can really make a run towards the playoffs. It took a couple of years after Chris Paul left, but New Orleans has a good team again.

Record- 42-40, 8th in West

Lineup- Holiday, Gordon, Evans, Anderson, Davis

That’s it for now athletes. Remember to check the blog every day, and read all of the amazing posts by the Reporters.

The problem with Vasquez is he had good stats on paper, but not in games. If you watched his games last season, you would know the stats were deceiving and he definitely isn’t the PG you want for the future.
