NBA2K13 My Career and MyTeam Updates!

   Hello once again athletes!!!

I haven’t posted in a while but I promise I will try and make more time now. I just wanted to update you guys on my NBA2K13 status.

First order of business. Already pre-ordered NBA2K14 dynasty edition.

In MyCareer, I am currently in the 2nd round of the playoffs in my 8th season. I signed with the Thunder in the end of the 6th season after 6 successful seasons in New Orleans. I could have asked for a trade but I wanted the Thunder to keep Westbrook and Durant. The line-up looks like so:

PG- Me

SG- Westbrook

C- a generated rookie named Klurrgen Muller, apparently he’s German.

I do play on Hall of Fame difficulty, although my record doesn’t reflect it. I went 77-5 this season with OKC. I averaged 46.2 PPG, 20.3 APG, 13.7 RPG, 8.3 SPG, and 3.8 BPG. I recorded 82 trip-dubs, 32 quad-dubs, and 3 pent-dubs. I take very smart shots for those stats. FG% is 78.2 and 3pt% is at 66.1. Free throw % has never been below 97.5%. My signature skills I haven’t changed since rookie season. Floor General, Lockdown Defender, Dimer, Posterizer, and the Gatorade Prime Pack. My favorite is Dimer because my teammates get the ball in stride and don’t bobble it, so I get more assists.

All-time accolades: MVP (8), RoY, NBA Champion (8), Finals MVP (8), Defensive Player of the Year (3), All-star selections (8), Dunk Contest champion (5), 3pt shootout champion (6), Most points in single game in NBA history (171), most assists in a signle game (47), most field goals in a game and most attempts (77 , 89), most 3pt field goals made (37), most steals in a game (19).

Tips:  If you have trouble getting steals, play backcourt press defense all game, and the ball handler with try and spin-off you and dribble off his knee or rush a pass to avoid an 8 second, in that case just tip the pass. Or after a bucket guard the Point Guard so the CPU inbounds it to the SG and then once he passes half court, he usually tries to give it to the point. Jump the passing lane. If you are behind a ball handler, chase him down and get on the side he is dribbling with, then press the steal button. Yes, this is all cheesy but no sportsmanship for the CPU, right?

If you have trouble getting blocks, just play good defense and they will eventually come. If you are impatient, get some chasedown blocks and/or play help defense and you might get lucky and force a leaning layup, then send that into the 6th row. 🙂

Gold legend count- 80

That is every gold legend in MyTeam, I checked on Operation Sports.

If you have a question about a legend, leave it in the comments and I will gladly answer the best I can.

My line-up is:

PG- Allen Iverson, Oscar Robertson

SG- Mitch Richmond, Clyde Drexler, Joe Dumars

SF-Dominique Wilkins, Tom Sanders

PF- Shawn Kemp, Bill Russell, Karl Malone

C- Hakeem Olajuwan, Shaquille O’Neal

Pretty decent line-up and very efficient.  But that isn’t my favorite line-up to use. My favorite is my all-time Sonics team:

PG- Gary Payton, Russell Westbrook, Nate McMillan

SG- Hersey Hawkins, Ray Allen, David Wingate

SF- Detlef Schrempf, Rashard Lewis

PF- Kevin Durant, Sam Perkins

C- Shawn Kemp, Ervin Johnson

Very versatile to say the least.

Sorry for the long post but I hope you enjoyed! Anyone want to get some XBOX team-ups or something like that just send me a message. My gamertag is MongrelPillow19 (don’t ask I just typed without looking to change it up).

Stay Classy, San Diego

Great stats. I saw your record and it seems like whatever team our player is on, they seem to do good. Through 14 games with Houston, we are 10-4, but after I left, they are now 18-18. The Spurs were 9-6 when I arrived, but we are now 31-7 (22-1 since arriving, 21-game winning streak overall). I’m not sure if it’s just the Spurs, but I get started at SG every game. I have to guard Eric Gordon, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, etc. every game. It’s fine on offense, because I spam the pass button when Parker gets up the floor, but on defense, I get overpowered by 6’6″ Kobe Bryant. Not sure if you know how to help, but just saying. I also have Dimer and Gatorade skills. I’m only like a 70 overall, because on my PC version of the game, there is no VC (or myteam, I have to play on XBOX for that). We get skill points and you only get about 120 SP per game.

Those are great stats for 70-ish overall. Not much help I can give unfortunately. My best advice is too work on your On-Ball D, Strength, and Low Post D. Also try the bruiser signature skill. It will drain your matchup of his stamina and he will eventually get subbed out. The defensive stats will help you a great deal too. On-Ball D to stop athletic driving guards, and Strength and Low Post D will help against someone who posts up a lot, like Kobe.

Also, in a game like 10 games back, I got 27 assists. I asked my dad if he thought I could break the record. He said no. I thought he was crazy, because I had like 16 points to go with it and if I shot less, I could have gotten it then. Ever since he said no, it has gotten harder to get assists. I’ve been around 15-22 APG since then.

Impressive Stats! Lol I’m still on my rookie season, and I don’t even remember most of my stats. I’m with the Rockets, getting close to the Allstar Break. Not starting yet (due to Jeremy Lin). But I am First in PPG on team and in league, and 2nd in assists (both as a bench player) I’m still working on making the playoffs, but I have a long way to go obviously. I was wondering if you could go back to the old times and record some of your 2K13 videos.

    • dalt0521 says:

Possibly. I wish I would have recorded a game from last night/early morning. I went into 5 overtimes vs the Lakers, otherwise known as the cheesiest team in 2K. Honestly, it was just a battle between Kobe and myself. Ended up with a quad-dub and 70 minutes played. 85 pts, 19 reb, 20 ast, 10 stls, and 3 blk. So I might record some games or just wait for 2K14.

I just started a center. I had 11 points and 10 rebounds in the showcase. I got drafted by the 76ers and I thought it would be fun. I was wrong. Being a center is AWFUL in this game. You get outrebounded by guards and your teammates STEAL rebounds. You never get the ball and you get considerably fewer minutes than other positions. Not sure if you tried, but it sucks.

      • dalt0521 says:

I have one on my second account. You’re right, it is just dreadful being a center. Start off with possibly the worst stats of any position. In the showcase I think I had like 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Lost the ball going for layups a lot. No handles. Drafted to Portland at 11, played maybe 3 games, then just stopped.

      • babazies says:

Yeah, I stopped it and made a SF. He’s a 6’10” 3pt specialist. I want him to be the ” White Kevin Durant” (good height for a SF, 3pt shot, and similar shot form). I got drafted 17th to Dallas, because I d**ked around in the showcase (14 points 7 rebounds 6-14 FG). It’s really fun though. Through my first 3 games I’ve scored 17,24,17 points. I even went 8/9 from 3pt in my 2nd game. I score well at 19.3 PPG, but I only average 1.7 RPG and 2.7 APG.

      • dalt0521 says:

First 2 games I played, I had a total of 3 assists with my PG. Just tried to get as many buckets as possible. Then I got to start and started passing. When I started, I wondered what it would be like to just do horribly in the showcase, and actually get drafted to a good team. But I soon gave up that dream. Also just a random question, do you play with the keyboard or connect your Xbox controller? Just wondering how hard it is with keyboard.

      • babazies says:

I use the keyboard, because it didn’t feel right using the controller while at my desk. It’s actually really easy with the keyboard. It takes a little longer to find the combinations for passes and stuff, but they label the controller button next to the key in the controller options. There isn’t a shot stick, just a key to press. I’ve pretty much memorized where each key is in comparison to the other, so it might be easier to me. It only really lacks in dribble moves.

Man I played a game against the Spurs today. And we lost in the last few seconds (Thanks Ginobili…) because my team was being retarded and thought “Maybe if we shoot three’s, we’ll win! hardy hardy har har!” Their plan didn’t work very well. But it worked for Manu Ginobili… On the other hand I ended up with 53 points, 14 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block.

  5. thebenjibang1 says:

I got drafted to the Detroit Pistons (9th overall) and played 3 seasons so far. Won 3 NBA Championships, 2 MVP (LeBron won first year), Rookie of the Year, 3 time allstar, and 3 time Finals MVP.

    Line up is:

    PG: Me
    SG: Rodney Stuckey
    SF: Corey Magette
    PF: Jason Maxiell
    C: Greg Monroe

Brandon Knight got traded to the Kings for a 1st Round pick and we got Isaiah Tomas (PG) then we got a guy named Bernard Wall (PF).

Nothing has really changed then… I signed with Nike and still on the Pistons but this is my final season with them.

What do you think?
