Hey athletes! After recent complaints about posting, well, here you go. Based on the beginning of the season, we can tell a lot. The Timberwolves have the injury bug and it might be because they have Rick Adelman (Yao Ming, Tmac) and Brandon Roy (himself and Greg Oden). Missing both starting and backup PGs, all-star Kevin Love, Brandon Roy, Chase Budinger, and Nikola Pekevic.
This is probably the best I’ve seen the Knicks play since Carmelo Anthony came. Many people may call it a fluke, but it’s very obvious what is making them so good. You could say it’s the 3-pointers, but I can tell it’s the passing. The ball movement of the Knicks this season really makes them fun to watch. If they want to keep it going when Amare returns, I suggest they make him come off the bench, because obviously something is working. Don’t be surprised if Melo is an M.V.P contender. With this new “defensive” Melo, he’s got a shot.
Who would have thought that the Bobcats (3-3) would more wins than the Pistons, Wizards, and Raptors combined (2-20)? They also have a better winning percentage than the Pacers (3-5), Lakers (3-4), and the Magic (2-5). All three made the playoffs last year.
Quietly, one of the hotter teams in the league is flying under the radar. This team usually does. The Memphis Grizzlies recently crushed the Miami Heat and has dominated the season series ever since Lebron came to Miami. If you haven’t seen Jerryd Bayless’ (former Arizona Wildcat) monster block on Ray Allen, go check it out. If you haven’t voted for the All-star game yet, vote for Zach Randolph (league leader for rebounds) and Anderson Varejao (35 points 18 rebounds).
Now, I have to give my favorite teams their due. Though the Warriors, Trail blazers, and Suns haven’t been flawless, I can’t say I could have predicted this start. Though their combined record is below .500 (9-13), there is some promising things to take away. My home town team, the Suns has the better record, but I would say Portland had the harder schedule. No matter what happens, I’ll stick by my teams and maybe one might make the playoffs.
